Burritos raise $2,100 for scholarships

London Properties, a member of the Madera Association of Realtors (MAR), sold $2 burritos and gathered $2,100, to benefit the MAR scholarship program, winning a friendly competition organized by MAR members.

The competition was held last fall between MAR affiliates and real estate firms to raise at least $2,500 that will benefit graduating high school seniors this year.

Through the competition, a total of $3,200 was raised, exceeding everyone’s expectations. The scholarship committee is reviewing scholarship applications and will award $500 each to six high school graduates from the county.

The $200 excess will go towards a candy sales fundraiser for next year’s scholarship...
